WILL MISS EARTH 2023 BE AFRICAN?

African women are taking part in yet another Miss Earth pageant. Since the pageant began in 2000, no African contestant has ever won the title.

What are these women not getting right?

This year 2023, representatives are coming from about fourteen African countries. Twelve from the African continent and two from the Caribbeans. Will they fare better?

Below is how the title-holder is scored and selected.

Beauty and knowledge carries the highest score of thirty-five percent. It is followed knowledge of environmental issues and policies which scores thirty percent.

The form and figure of the contestant is only twenty percent of the consideration. While oise is ten and attitude is five percent. So…

Are the judges of the past twenty-one contests saying the African queens are the most ignorant and least beautiful in the past twenty-one years?

Form and figure is said to be twenty percent, yet the past twenty-one winners have the same figure and form.

While poise and attitude score the least. This may imply that for the title holder, these two qualities do not really count.

Why then are there no title holders from the cradle of humankind? How deeply do the environmental activities of countries and continents we represent affect our final scorecards at such competitions? Any suggestions? Answers? Guesses?
