LADY VALERIE EBE : FIRST FEMALE DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF AKWA-IBOM STATE (2012-2015)

Over fifty years ago, Lady Valerie Ebe was actively involved in the rights of students, especially women while she was in the University of Nsukka. Such people are nicknamed (aluta) in their country because of their activism. They reject and fight against every form of oppression.

This Amazon was born on the 26th of March 1947. (She will be celebrating her birthday in some hours from now). She has a degree in History Archeology (1973) and another in Law(1996). Both degrees she got from the University of Nsukka.

She trained as a teacher in Holy Child Teacher Training college. (1964-66)

She began her working career as a teacher in 1967. She rose to different positions of leadership from 1975-2012 when she became the first deputy governor of her state.

In all her working years, her focus remained fairness, progress and promotions of the women in her society.
