Professor Appiah Amfo is a specialist in the French language and the science of linguistics.

She is the offspring of teachers. Both parents are teachers. She was born in 1971. She sped to her present position in the space of twenty years. That is from 1991 when she became a student of the University to 2021 when she rose to be the vice chancellor of same.

She sees herself as working in the capacity of a scientist and humanist, to be an excellent worker at this new job of hers.

She became vice chancellor in October 2021. She is the very first female vice chancellor since the inception of the great institution in 1948! She is the fourth female vice -chancellor in all of Ghana.
