Ms. Rolland made history as the first ever African-born winner of the Miss France Pageant in 2000. She went on to make the top 10 semi-finalists at the Miss Universe Pageant same year.
The spectacular story of Ms. Rolland began in 1990 when her family fled Rwanda to neighbouring Burundi because of the growing unease in the country. That place was not any better and they fled again in 1994 during the civil war . They settled in the French city of Burgundy.
And there ladies and gentlemen, Sonia began her path to history. She first won the Miss Burgundy title in 1999, which qualified her to participate and win Miss France 2000.
The next year, she had her first role in the television series, ‘C’est pas facile’. One episode. After this first role, the calls kept coming and she has featured in several TV series and movies since then.
